Sarah Amar is a self-taught American illustrator. Originally from Colorado, she is currently living overseas.

Her work is deeply influenced by classic and vintage children's books, and her favorite stories are pastoral, with a hint of mystery and magic. Her work covers a range of subjects and themes, but she especially loves to illustrate the natural world, wild landscapes, and the brave little people who have adventures in them.

 

She also loves to illustrate clothes: beautiful knits, organic fibers, and quietly patterned textiles have a special place in her heart.

Her style embraces naturalistic textures, elegant and classic color palettes, uncluttered compositions, expressive bodies and gestures, and atmospheric environments. ​
